What Car? has just announced that based on their research alongside Warranty Direct , Honda is considered the most reliable used car manufacturer in the UK.  Honda has proudly held that position for the eighth consecutive year. The survey included data from 38 manufacturers and 50,000 live Warranty Direct policies on three to eight-year old vehicles. From the list of most reliable used vehicles in the study, it appears that Asian manufacturers came out on top, with Suzuki and Hyundai second and third behind Honda. The latest Euro NCAP results are in. How did the new Citroën C4 Picasso and the Honda CR-V fare? Astonishingly well. Both vehicles scored an impressive 5 star overall rating from Euro NCAP testers. To help motorists choose the safest model when buying a new car or van, Euro NCAP organizes crash-tests then provides a realistic and independent assessment of the safety performance of many popular vehicles in Europe. The criteria for the overall safety rating are composed of scores in four areas which include: adult protection, child protection, pedestrian protection and safety assist. In the Small Off-Road 4x4 category the Honda CR-V 2.2 diesel SE, RHD 5-door hatchback model, used during testing, performed exceptionally well in the adult occupant segment scoring  a whopping 93%. The test showed it provided good protection for all body regions of the driver and passenger. Another global concept debut took place at this year’s North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. Honda has unveiled details of their all- new " Urban SUV Concept" which is currently scheduled to be launched in Japan at the end of 2013 and in the U.S. in 2014. Honda also says it will be introduced into the European market at a later unspecified date. So what will this future Urban SUV offer? Honda describe it as, "designed to provide aesthetic cues for an all-new small SUV, showcases clean and sophisticated styling, dynamic lines and a strong stance. The small SUV will be rolled out across the world and will be powered by Honda’s fuel-efficient Earth Dreams Technology. The new model will utilise Honda’s original centre-tank layout that features on the Honda Jazz and will also incorporate Honda’s famous Magic Seats that enable a range of seating configurations for maximum versatility." Honda released a brief post yesterday announcing their all-new Honda compact URBAN SUV CONCEPT vehicle.  It's due to make its world debut at the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) on 14 January. The NAIAS is an annual auto show held in Detroit, Michigan USA. The 2013 show is scheduled to run from January 14 through January 27, with the show offering press, industry, and charity preview days ahead of the public opening which runs from the 19th to the 27th. It first began as the Detroit Auto Show and was held in December 1907. As interest in automobiles grew, so did the show which resulted in the current name being adopted in 1989. The URBAN SUV CONCEPT, teased in a sketch, is a global concept model which combines a sporty and dynamic SUV profile with a spacious interior utilising Honda’s centre-tank layout, creating a highly functional design. Just announced this week, CAP and Honda have teamed up to  launch an online Used Car Valuation Tool, allowing owners of any UK registered car to obtain a hassle-free valuation and created to supply impartial and invaluable information when users are thinking about changing their car. All the data is supplied and regularly updated by CAP – the market leading provider of vehicle valuation data – and works on all makes and models. The valuation tool can also be accessed via the Used Car or New Car pages of the Honda website, or direct from a search engine. On the first screen, users are asked to fill in their contact details plus information on the car, including registration number and mileage. They can also specify whether they plan to part-exchange, sell outright to a dealer or dispose of the vehicle privately. I have just read Honda's press release revealing details and pictures of their new British CR-V, built in their Swindon factory. The optional two or four wheel drive 2.0 i-VTEC petrol models and the 2.2 i-DTEC diesel CR-V are going to be available in October of this year. Honda says they considered the balance between car and SUV when designing aspects of the new styling. Exterior Designer Manabu Konaka explains: “The CR-V has always been a car for every occasion. It can be both casual and formal, but the appearance must always convey solidity and reliability.” They reduced the height and length, however, from the details they have released and from the pictures supplied, it still has plenty of room for luggage and can even fit your bicycles with ease.
