There have been frequent posts and discussions about young drivers these days. Should they be banned from driving at night, banned from having passengers, should it be compulsory for them to pass a driving course and if so, will it lower their insurance costs? SEAT, in their press release announcing details of their driver training programme/course called SEAT Young Driver , pointed out that Statistics from the Department for Transport show that two out of ten newly qualified drivers will crash within six months of passing the test,   and drivers aged 17-24 are involved in one in four incidents of serious injury or death on the road, despite accounting for one in eight full UK driving licences. It's the only driver training course of its type in the UK. It offers anyone aged between 11 and 17 years old the chance to get behind the wheel with a qualified ADI instructor and learn how to drive. Seat has introduced a new automated manual gearbox for the Mii. Seat has made it more economical and lower in CO2 emissions. The new Mii Auto is 2.7mpg more fuel efficient on average than the Mii Sport, which has the same 1.0-litre 75PS engine with a manual gearbox. The automated version adds comfort with more efficiency and accomplishes this by doing away with a manually operated clutch, instead utilising an electric motor linked to a pair of electromechanical actuators to handle gear changes. In their press release, Seat say, "The gearbox is only available with the 75PS engine and in SE trim, making Mii Auto a standalone model. There are currently no plans to offer it with the lower powered 60PS engine (with which it shares identical average economy and CO 2 figures). Performance is only marginally affected by the loss of a manually operated clutch, with the Mii Sport’s 13.2 second 0-62mph benchmark increased slightly to 13.9 seconds in the Mii Auto. Seat has launched a new tool where customers can book their car for servicing at their local dealership online. The process couldn't be easier and is available now. Just log onto www.seat.co.uk , click on the service tab and choose book your service online now , and then enter the mileage and registration of your car, select your nearest dealership, confirm the type of service you require, and then choose a convenient booking date and time. Anna Chudley, after-sales retention manager at Seat UK, said: "We’re thrilled to be launching online service booking this week, which makes it easier than ever for a Seat owner to book their car into a nearby dealership." Also, as part of their after-sales care package, “It’s Fixed" is a service scheme that offers dealer servicing at local garage rates for SEATs aged between 3-10 years old. Seat has introduced their new redesigned Leon via an official press release. This third generation of  Leon five door hatchbacks will be available by the end of the year. Fuel efficient engine choices include a 1.6 and 2.0 diesel, and 1.2, 1.4, 1.8 petrol. From the official pictures, it looks to be a very elegant and smart car. Seat have used the term 'Enjoyneering' to describe the design and development of this new vehicle. “The new Leon condenses all the strengths of the SEAT brand more than ever before.
