First Iveco ECOSTRALIS' added to popular fleet

The transport and distribution specialist Eddie Stobart is putting the Iveco ECOSTRALIS to the test. The company have called the two ECOSTRALIS', the first ever Iveco's to be added to their large fleet, ‘Sophie’ and ‘Lynda Dawn’. These two tractor units will be closely monitored while being used for general haulage and operating with tri-axle curtain side trailers at a gross vehicle weight of up to 44 tonnes. The vehicles power comes from a unique version of the FPT Cursor 10 engine that contributes to reducing fuel consumption and to maintain optimum performance. According to Iveco's recent press release, "Iveco has matched this engine with an array of additional fuel-saving features such as the ECOSWITCH device that uses the vehicle weight information from the ECAS / EBS systems to limit engine torque according to the truck’s gross vehicle weight – ensuring overall performance is maintained in line with that of a fully laden vehicle." If all goes well, these units and more may be a mainstay in the Eddie Stobart haulage fleet.
