Volkswagen sales surpass others in UK van market

It has been reported that Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles have surpassed the van market in the UK thanks to increased sales across nearly all of their range for the first six months of 2012, despite a recent SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders) announcement that van sales across the board had fallen. VW now hold a strong second place in the market behind Ford. "We have Transporter, Crafter and Amarok customers to thank for our success," said Alex Smith, Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. "In addition, low running costs, strong residual values and affordable finance offers continue to make Volkswagen vans a wiser and more desirable investment." With new efficient VW models coming out soon and greater availability of Amarok thanks to production made available from Germany, Volkswagen says it is hopeful the rest of 2012 will be busy for its Van Centre’s across the UK.
