Chevrolet UK has happily announced in a new press release, that the Caravan Club has named the Captiva as 2013 Best Tow Car in its weight category. The Captiva is Chevrolet's compact SUV and was given a full makeover in 2011, including a fresh exterior design, giving it a more confident and dynamic presence; an all-new range of the latest powerful and fuel efficient engines; chassis modifications to improve ride and handling and an upgraded interior. With a starting price of starts at £28,285, the Captiva offers good value for money, while offering all-wheel-drive capability, versatility for up to seven passengers and an interior quality at an affordable price. The national competition, for the first time categorised entrants by Vehicle Excise Duty tax brands rather than price. The Caravan Club competition drew 23 entrants that were then divided into four Vehicle Excise Duty classes plus two All-Wheel-Drive categories, under 1800kg and over 1800kg. The panel of 10 expert judges unanimously agreed that the Captiva’s capabilities surpassed the competition in the 1800kg and over category, crowning it the victor in that class. Daniel Gregorious, National Sales and Operations Manager at Chevrolet, was at the awards ceremony at the RAC Club in London, where the winners were announced. He said: “This is amazing news for Captiva – Chevrolet has a long history of SUVs and Captiva is a safe and practical model for towing.
