"Motorists failing to declare damage"

Have you ever accidentally hit a parked car and sneakily kept driving, choosing not to own up to it? Confused.com posted a recent article reporting the results of a new survey by esure car insurance that revealed a significant amount of drivers in the UK have caused damage to another vehicle and not reported it.

Keep in mind, that by not stopping to sort out details with the parked car owner or failing to identify yourself by leaving a note as the person who caused the damage and you somehow do get caught after the fact, it will be looked at as a hit and run offence. That is considered a crime and you can be arrested, fined, have your license revoked, and not to mention your insurance company may also choose to withdraw your policy. In my opinion, it's just not worth the thrill of thinking you've gotten away with something.

It was interesting to read that the survey found that women were more likely to own up to hitting a parked, plus they were also less likely to hit a parked car in the first place. I was glad to read that, as some of my male friends seem to think women drivers are far too distracted looking in the mirror applying make-up when driving and bumping a parked car would be something we would most likely do in large numbers.
