Volkswagen offers informative short web magazines called Via Vision

If you've ever wondered about how certain components of a vehicle work, for instance how disc brakes operate, then Volkswagen has just announced a helpful tool for you.  In their recent press release Volkswagen say, "As cars become increasingly complex, Volkswagen is attempting to cut through some of the technological mysteries with a series of short magazines and a website called Via Vision."

Topics covered in the Via Vision series so far in 2012 are: Brakes, Nanotechnology, the MQB platform, Autonomous driving, Car connections (and how automotive companies are related), Convertibles, Aerodynamics and Tyres.

Each edition examines a different aspect of vehicle technology, from the MQB platform, through tyres and precious metals to cabriolet roof mechanisms.  The latest Via Vision has just been published, and is now available to view and download. Written in an easy to digest format with ample illustrations, pull-out facts and a foreword by the Volkswagen Group’s Head of Research and Development, Dr Ulrich Hackenberg, Via Vision provides a simple guide to the world of Volkswagen.

I took a look at the current issue which I found to be very well written and supplied the information in an easy to understand format. Be sure to explore past issues in the archive section as well. The web magazines are easy to read and best of all, they're free. Check them out for yourself by clicking here.
