Van Excellence members pick up impressive honours at Fleet Van Awards 2012

Members of the FTA Van Excellence scheme were big winners at the Fleet Van Awards 2012. The Van Excellence scheme is an industry-led initiative promoting enhanced standards of van operator compliance and a focused commitment to safer, more efficient and sustainable van operations. On their website this week, they have posted a recent press release honouring their winning members. The information below includes a few highlights to share from their post, titled “Van Excellence members sweep the board at Fleet Van Awards,” published on December 10, 2012.

A considerable amount of Van Excellence partners were nominated in a variety of categories at the awards ceremony which was held in London last week. Trophies were awarded to several members like SHB who won Van Rental Company of the Year, and Fiat Fiorino which took City Van of the Year. Volkswagen won three trophies on the day – the first being for Fleet Van Manufacturer of the Year, with the Volkswagen Caddy taking first for Small Van of the Year whilst the Volkswagen Transporter drove away with Medium Panel Van of the Year.

Van Excellence partner Ford was also a big winner, taking home the award for Green Van Manufacturer of the Year and its Ford Ranger picked up Pick-up Truck of the Year and Commercial Vehicle of the Year, with the prize for Large Panel Van of the Year going to the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.

Mark Cartwright, FTA's Head of Vans & Light Commercial Vehicles, was thrilled for the operators and partners of the scheme and their results at the awards and said: "We are delighted to see so many Van Excellence operators and partners being acknowledged as industry leaders at the Fleet Van Awards 2012. It's extremely gratifying to see their hard work and dedication being recognised publicly. Here’s to 2013!"
