Essential Guide to Van Specification: Roof racks/ladders/vents

The latest guide page takes a look at another two types of equipment and accessories that you may consider adding to your van. Roof racks, access ladders, and possibly vents can be essential equipment to have depending on the nature of your job. If you need to carry extra equipment that will not easily fit in your van, fitting a roof rack will allow you to have access to additional space on your vehicle for the storage of extra equipment and ladders are designed for easy access to roof racks. Ladders for vans may be detachable or fixed. Vents are specifically designed to extract air from the van load area, reducing the effects from unwanted fumes, smells and condensation.

The main types of equipment and accessories can be grouped as follows:

Internal linings and bulkheads

• Aids to loading and unloading (covered in last week’s guide)

• Lifting aids (covered in last week’s guide)
