Mercedes-Benz releases pricing details for new Citan van

Mercedes-Benz has released pricing details on their new Citan van. The new Citan compact van marks Mercedes-Benz's entry into the small van market.

This is the van I have been most interested in, as its appeal comes not only from Mercedes-Benz high end customer care, its practical features that come standard, but also because the Citan is ideally suited to transporting goods; capable of carrying loads of up to 735 kg and a volume of up to 3.8 m3.  Mercedes-Benz suggests the Citan is able to perform like a hero by combining an attractive design with high quality standards and not forgetting to mention its low fuel consumption and low CO2 emissions. It all adds up to make the Citan a brilliant choice for your next van.

If you haven't already had a look at the Citan's official microsite, you should take a moment to check it out. Mercedes-Benz created an advertising campaign featuring webisodes of Richard Dean Anderson reprising his role as TVs’ MacGyver. It is a very entertaining promo with the premise of showing that the Citan van is always "ready for action".

Steve Bridge, Van Sales and Marketing Director for Mercedes-Benz UK, said: “The new Citan is certainly creating a stir within the van industry. Right from the day we released the first sketches the level of interest was and has been relentless. We have a lot of interest across the entire Citan model range and we’re now in a position as a manufacturer to offer a compact van, capable of carrying up to 735 kg with a small footprint, which is ideal for both retail and business customers. Having the backing and support of the established Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Dealer Network brings our customers huge benefits too. It also gives us the assurance of knowing that the customers owning and operating experience will be class-leading and the envy of the industry. With a number of finance options available I have great confidence in the fact that the new Citan will not only be an attractive vehicle but a trusted partner and most of all, an affordable business asset.”

The Citan BlueEFFICIENCY sets new benchmarks in efficiency – achieving up to 65.7 mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 112 g/km. No other urban delivery van with a combustion engine consumes less fuel or produces fewer emissions. The Citan is available in three lengths, Compact, Long and Extra Long with load volumes of up to 2.4 m3, 3.1 m3 and 3.8 m3 respectively. Offered in Dualiner and Traveliner variant, both equipped with a second row of seats capable of carrying five people.

Available to order now, prices for the Citan start from as little as £13,095 for the 108 CDI Compact. Alternatively, the 109 CDI Compact Trade Edition can be ordered for £13,645.
