Volvo updates ‘Transporters’ game now available to play on Facebook

Did you know that Volvo's ‘Transporters’ game is now available to play on Facebook? It's an entertaining yet clever marketing game that Volvo says "highlights the fact that whether we are talking about transporting food, carrying passengers and goods or building roads and houses, the Volvo Group helps meet these requirements on a daily basis all over the world."

In the game you get the chance to be behind the wheel of one of the Volvo Group’s many vehicles and carry out a variety of transport assignments in the face of various obstacles where both speed and accuracy are essential if you want to top the leader board. Can you believe that since the launch of Transporters last October, the game has been downloaded over 1.5 million times? When I read this in Volvo's latest post, I just had to give the game another go and you know what? After playing it a bit longer than I had the first time I reviewed it (I wasn't initially impressed), it is actually a pretty fun game to play and if you are skilled enough to get into the top three places each week, there are prizes to win every Monday.

“The game is a fun way of illustrating how the Volvo Group and our products contribute to society every single day,” adds Mårten Wikforss, Executive Vice President Corporate Communications at the Volvo Group. ‘Transporters’ can be played on tablets, the web or smartphone – and now Facebook - making it both simple and fun to challenge friends and acquaintances and allowing you to compete against anyone anywhere in the world. It is available to download both at the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Android).

Clever marketing ploy or not, it is a great way to waste a bit of time at the office or while you're waiting on public transportation. To try the game for yourself, please click here for more details or log into your Facebook account and search for Transporters - The Volvo Group Game.
