Keep your van tidy for better driving results

Before you hit the road today, take a look around the inside of your van. Is it clean, tidy, and a clear reflection of your business or could it do with a proverbial spring clean? Well, according to an article published on Confused.com  website. Van drivers typically make for better drivers when they are behind the wheel of squeaky clean vans. The article provides information taken from automaker Nissan's recent report that looks into the details of the modern day professional driver. 92% of drivers said they feel better when driving a clean vehicle and with 72% believing that a clean vehicle actually makes them a better driver. Quick, hide the crisp and sweet wrappers.

The condition of our vehicles can sometimes say a lot about how we manage other aspects of our life. If your van is need of a quick spruce up, then take the time to clean, de-clutter, and organise your working space to help your day to day operations go a lot smoother. It shouldn't take very long and if you make it a bi-weekly or monthly habit, you are on your way to feeling better and according to Nissan, driving better too.

Firstly, you can tidy up the inside by empting everything out of the cab of the van, discarding the obvious garbage/debris. Clear out the junk and sort through any important paperwork and other items needed for work. If there were any tea, coffee, or drink spills still lingering, wipe them up and give the interior from dashboards to windows a quick going over. See, it's looking better already. I usually keep small trash bags (one for garbage and one for recyclables) in my vehicle so that I can throw any garbage into them instead of on the car floor. Then, it’s easier to simply take the full bag out without having to look for any rubbish that may have ended up rolling all over. For crumbs, if you don't have one of those mini car vacuums, then a simple brush and dust pan will do the trick.

The exterior appearance of your van is important as well, so don't forget to give it a good wash from time to time. I know many people who judge a van/company by its cover so to speak and a clean van is a good reflection on your business and vice versa.

Good luck and here's to a cleaner van and a happier driving experience.
