Iveco launching special edition light commercial vehicle named Platinum Daily

If you have been waiting for a top of the range big van with bigger features, the wait may be over. Just this week Iveco has announced that they are launching a special edition light commercial vehicle named Platinum Daily. They say it is “designed to appeal to owner-drivers eager to combine added style and comfort with one of the best all-round vehicle and aftersales packages on the market”.

Based on the details released from Iveco, every Platinum Daily will come with Iveco’s highest tier options pack as standard. See below:

  • Electric windows and mirrors

  • Cruise control

  • Suspended driver's seat

  • Remote control central locking as well as additional storage

  • Optimised sound proofing and power steering

These also include air conditioning with climate control, spring-suspended driver’s seat, cornering front fog lights, heated electric mirrors, remote control central locking, additional storage compartments, 140 amp alternators and a heavy-duty battery.

The shiny new van will be offered in a choice of two wheelbase configurations – 3,300mm or 3,950mm – to deliver a load space of 12m3 or 15.6m3 respectively. It will feature the most popular 2.3 litre FPT Euro 5 diesel engine in the Daily line-up, capable of producing up to 126hp and selected for its blend of fuel efficiency and on-road performance.

Externally, the van’s paint options will be available in platinum silver or white. Plus, each model will feature with a built-in Clarion NX502E entertainment centre, operated via a wireless remote control and incorporates a 6.2” high-resolution display with satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and a reversing camera with rear sensors.

This all sounds very appealing, especially with prices starting from £19,995. But we will need to look beyond all the bells and whistles to see how well it drives and handles in everyday work load situations. I will look for future reviews on the new Iveco Platinum Daily in the coming weeks.
