Major motor shows open this month, but you'll need your passports ready

We’ve made it to the first day of November folks. As we near the end of 2013, I hope your Halloween was eventful and that your Bonfire Night sparkles. But before the next holiday approaches, you know the big one in December, (I can’t bring myself to say it or write about it yet. Bah, Humbug) there are some very exciting motor shows to talk about. The first major North American auto show of the season, the Los Angeles Auto Show, is once again going to make the headlines when it opens its doors on November 20th, 2013.

The show promises to “blow the doors off” with no less than fifty vehicle debuts taking place at this year’s event. For all auto lovers, there will be over 1,000 of the 2013 makes and models of import and domestic cars, as well as alternative fuel/electric vehicles and race cars. Now that sounds like heaven to me. I will make sure to keep an eye out for the newly launched vehicles as they step into the limelight during their glamorous LA coming out party. There’s still time to get your passports ready and fly to Southern California so you can bask in the sunshine and attend this amazing show. Press Days for the 2013 LA Auto Show will be held on Nov. 20 and 21. The show will be open to the public Nov. 22 – Dec. 1. For more details, you can visit the shows official website by clicking here.

And happening on the other side of the world, we can look forward to the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show, which begins with their Press Days from Wednesday 20 November, 2013. The theme for this year’s show is "Compete! And shape a new future." The shows official website says that, “automobiles, motorcycles, and their technologies are the outcome of competition between people involved in product development, aspiring to of astonish and delight people around the world. The theme represents the desire to have visitors experience a future that doesn’t yet exist anywhere and is shaped by vying values, such as beauty, technology, and dreams. “

We can expect to see several concept exhibits from Suzuki Motor Corporation at the Tokyo show. I am interested in finding out more about Suzuki’s compact crossover, Crosshiker. It is said to use the next-generation lightweight platform adopted for the G70. Honda Motor Co., Ltd has also announced they will be premiering a grand line-up of production and concept models, including the Honda S660 CONCEPT, an open-top sports-type mini-vehicle. The show will open its doors to the public from November 23 – December 1, 2013, but before that will hold their special guest day and preview night on November 22.  For more information, please visit the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show’s website here.
