What Van? 2014 award winners announced
The full list of the 2014 What Van? award winners have been announced this week. The magazine with decades of light commercial vehicle experience aims to recommend, commend, congratulate and reward the top performers in the van industry. These are decided by the editorial team of the UK’s leading light commercial vehicle title.
This year brought a whole new category to the awards in the form of ‘Used Van of the Year’ and the What Van? Hall of Fame, where a deserving legend in the industry will be inducted. Which LCV gained van immortalisation and did last year’s big winner, Ford, steal the show with multiple wins again this year?
Drum roll, please...
It probably comes as no surprise to see that Ford scored the ‘Van of the Year’ for a second time in a row, but with a slew of new vans heading our way in the new year, they will have to fight off some hefty competition if they want a hat trick in this category come the 2015 awards. I was pleased to see the addition of the used van category and even more delighted that the popular and highly reliable VW Transporter was named as the winner. It has been a good selling medium sized van for many years and what makes it an exceptional option is not only that it retains a high residual value, but it has a good reputation for being of strong build quality too.
