Sneaky parking

So this one is for all you students out there! Swansea Bay Campus has been open to students since September, but there is one small problem, they cannot currently park on site as it has not been completed yet.

At the moment people are parking along two streets opposite the campus and are blocking it for residents that live there, so here is a warning…new restrictions are now in place meaning if you park there and you don’t have a residents permit, the traffic warden will be paying a visit.

Now I know that you want to be as close to the University as possible when you are on the campus, but the University has put on extra bus services and a cycle track to try and encourage you to be more environmentally friendly.

It is also a huge health and safety hazard having a road full of parked cars, especially during the rush hour and with the night’s drawing in before 5pm now, all it takes is one child to appear from behind a car in the road for there to be an accident, so be mindful of where you park and remember it is always better to be safe than sorry.

The campus has 500 car parking spaces for staff and a pay and display car park for visitors and blue badge holders. The council along with the University will be reviewing the traffic heading to and from the campus three times in the first five years to see if things are working as they should be.
