7 motor experiences to put on your bucket list

If you love to drive, there are plenty of experiences out there that you have to do in your lifetime. From unique driving experiences to a visual history of cars in Britain, here’s a list of things you need to put on your bucket list.

Drive on the Autobahn
I’m sure most of us have heard of the German highway system – so we know about the speed limitless sections. While they do have an advisory speed limit of 81mph, you can legally go any speed you want. This is a unique driving experience that you won’t get anywhere else.

Off road driving experience
Driving a 4x4 is a much better experience when you’re off the road. There are plenty of places you can do this, and if you are looking for a more challenging drive then this is a good option for you. Sign up with an instructor to get the best out of your experience.

Watch the Grand Prix
The buzz of the racetrack isn’t the same on the telly as it is in real life – it’s definitely something you need to experience once in your life. There are plenty of packages you can buy to make the day even more amazing, so make sure to check out your options.

Drive the Silverstone track
So you’ve gone to watch the Grand Prix and thought ‘Wow, I want to try that!’ Well, you actually can! Silverstone hold monthly track days where you can have a go yourself. Tickets are limited, so make sure you get yours in advance.

Luxury car museum tour…in Italy
Ferrari, Lamborghini and Pagani all have museums in an area often known as ‘Motor Valley’, just outside of Modena. There are also factory floor tours – these are more tricky to do, and require planning in advance. One to check off the list if you’re prepared enough!

British Motor Museum
If you’re looking for something a little closer to home, this museum is perfect for you. With the world’s largest collection of British cars, there is plenty to get your teeth into if you’re a vintage car enthusiast.

Drive Route 66
The iconic former highway in the United States gets you from Illinois to California, and can offer weeks of sightseeing. There’s a drive-in cinema on the route, as well as a museum dedicated to the route.  You also have the opportunity to see the Grand Canyon if you’re willing to divert slightly! Plan your journey ahead, as the route doesn’t officially exist anymore so it may be hard to find on a map.
