Got a question about electric cars? Ask Alexa or Google!
We've all heard that electric vehicles are the way of the future, and many of us are thinking about making the switch sooner rather than later.
But with so many questions to ask about charging, benefits, cost and range, where do you start?
A new app aims to make the process as easy as possible by allowing your Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to answer more than 50 of the most commonly aske questions.
Voiced by TV presenter Ben Fogle, the Electric Vehicles Voice App is the work of Go Ultra Low, the Government’s campaign to encourage more motorists to go electric, and will equip your voice-activated assistant with the ability to respond to most queries.

How do I use the Electric Vehicles Voice App?
It's easy - just ask!
- Amazon Alexa users can say: “Alexa, open electric vehicles.”
- Google Assistant users can say: “Okay Google, talk to electric vehicles guide.”

What the Government said:
In a statement released to coincide with the launch in March 2020, Future of Transport Minister Rachel Maclean said:"Electric vehicles are no longer an idea for the future, with more people than ever before opting for this new and exciting form of transport. Whether you’re interested in costs or the environmental benefits, this new app supported through the government’s Go Ultra low campaign, will help to drive the uptake of electric vehicles.
"This will in turn cut transport emissions and make our communities healthier, better places to live… all from the comfort of our own sofas."
