A herd of goats take over a Welsh town during the coronavirus lockdown

Image
Goats on the Great Orme by Eric Jones (CC BY-SA 2.0) To (mis)quote The Specials, a Welsh town really is "coming like a goat town" this week. With Llandudno in lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic, the local goats, who usually confine themselves to the nearby Great Orme headland, have seized on the opportunity to descend on the deserted streets and sample the grass, hedges and flowers while the humans are away. They were spotted late on March 27 by video editor Andrew Stuart, who has been documenting the four-legged action on his now-viral Twitter feed (see below). And even after the police sent them back on their way, they have been quick to return again and again... I think I just got a group of goats in Llandudno arrested. Let me explain... first, I saw this from inside a dark pub (the one I live in currently). I thought I was seeing things. So I took some video: pic.twitter.com/RtxYG6htLC — Andrew Stuart (@AndrewStuart) March 27, 2020 Can’t believe

Motorists won't have to get an MOT for six months because of coronavirus

Image
Motorists will have one less thing to worry about from Monday. Because of Covid-19, the UK Government will introduce a six-month exception to MOTs for drivers of vans, cars and motorcycles from March 30. Your vehicle must still be kept in a roadworthy condition, however, and you could be prosecuted if it's deemed unsafe. Garages will remain open throughout so repair work can be done. MOTs which are due before that date should still be tested, although the Department for Transport are working to ensure that anyone who is self isolating won't be penalised. It's also worth remembering that, even with a fully working vehicle, only essential journeys should be made. What else is going on? MOT tests have also been suspended for lorries, buses and trailers, for up to three rather than six months. Driving tests have been put on hold for three months for most people on the mainland in the UK, with full details on the gov.uk website . What the Government said: Tran

Got a question about electric cars? Ask Alexa or Google!

Image
We've all heard that electric vehicles are the way of the future, and many of us are thinking about making the switch sooner rather than later. But with so many questions to ask about charging, benefits, cost and range, where do you start? A new app aims to make the process as easy as possible by allowing your Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to answer more than 50 of the most commonly aske questions. Voiced by TV presenter Ben Fogle, the Electric Vehicles Voice App is the work of Go Ultra Low, the Government’s campaign to encourage more motorists to go electric, and will equip your voice-activated assistant with the ability to respond to most queries. Amazon Alexa users can say: “Alexa, open electric vehicles.” Google Assistant users can say: “Okay Google, talk to electric vehicles guide.” #AD | Like most people, I had many question
